Friday Night began with a champagne reception at the Adastra Hall in Hassocks, and a selection of photographs are in the links below:

Peter Wills had organised the weekend, and is seen here behind the bar, sampling the Dark Star Festival Ale, to ensure its quality.
Graham St John and his wife, Verity, had a big hand in the catering arrangements. Trevor Henry and Verity were checking out the champagne.
Fernand and Paul had arrived the day before, and were soon in party mood.
Frank and Joke, Fernand and Magda, and Willy were a nucleus of the Belgian contingent.
The irrepressible Ted had arrived.
Martin Meens and Ans, the Dutch President, and his wife, were talking to Peter and Pamela Wright.

Paul Alleene, the Belgian President, made his entrance.
Mike Steptoe, President of the Sussex Vale, said a few words of welcome.
David Beattie and David Kluge behind the bar, look worried about the drink supply.

Peter Wills was on his knees, feeling the strain, and needed hand feeding.
