Local Bake Off Competition in aid of Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance Service.

Inspired by the Great British Bake Off, the Sussex Vale Rotary Club and Hassocks WI have teamed together to organise a local version of the competition for the past three years. This year’s event takes place on Saturday 8th July at Adastra Hall in Hassocks, when aspiring bakers will be pitting their favourite recipes against each other in the following five categories: Scones, Tray-bake, Chocolate Heaven, Victoria Sandwich and Family Favourite. Bakers can enter as many categories as they wish, each entry costing £2.50.

There are 2 age groups for junior bakers, those aged 13-16 and 12 or under, are invited to enter Cookies or Decorated Cupcakes (with a summer holiday theme) at 50p per entry.   This is a challenging and fun event which will be assessed by an independent, qualified WI Judge.

Prizes will be awarded to the winners of each class, with a further prize for the overall baking champion. Refreshments will be available after the judging when the competition cakes and scones will be sold.   From 1st June, entry forms can be collected from and submitted to Orion News in Hassocks and The UKCook Shop in Burgess Hill. All these entries must be submitted and paid for by Saturday 1st July.
