Saturday Night's function was held at the Thistle Hotel in Brighton, and a selection of photographs are in the links below (when available):

• The Champagne Reception

• The Dutch contingent were being greeted by Duncan.

• Leo and Peter chatting with Kate.

• Champagne began to flow.

• Belgian friends were greeted by Jerry and Bernard.

• Groups were forming.

• Peter, Yvon and Carine were talking Secretary David.

• Ray was on the receiving end of a kiss from Willum.

• The Belgian Pageant - Punch and Judy being an alien concept to the Belgians, they had arranged a galaxy of famous Belgians.

• Frank introduced the assembled throng.

• Tin Tin and his dog was one familiar face.

• An ancient Gaul (Obelix?) found a bride from a later century.

• Till Eulenspiegel was transformed into William tell.

• The Singing Nun Soeur Sourire, revealed her talents.

• Eddie Maes displayed his lycra.

• Queen Isabella did many good works and prayed for us all.

• The Ladies' Tennis Champion hit a few balls.

• Miss World 1979 provided a welcome show of grace.

• Hercule Poirot, Alphonse Sax, Little Red Riding Hood and a Princess were among those not captured on film.

• The Dutch Pageant - set in an Cafe dispensing Pot and Paddos (Magic Mushrooms)

  • The Dutch made their entrance.

  • The Judge brought up the rear of the procession. Peter is getting carried away.

  • The scenery was erected.

  • Punch smokes a spliff while Judy feeds her baby.

  • Punch begins to get violent.

  • Judy was sent out to sell the magic mushrooms.

  • Punch gets punished for ill-treating the baby.

  • The Trial gets underway.

  • The Baby was reunited with his parents.

  • Judge Ted commutes Punch's sentence.

• A big surprise was to find a Turkish Rotaractor among the waiting staff. He presented a banner from his Club.

• The British Pageant, loosely adapted from Punch and Judy

• The Punch and Judy Tent declared it to be "Mr Paunch goes Global - A pageant for Rotarians in Silly Hats".

• Mr President brought the meeting to order, while Mr Paunch looks on.

• Mrs Judy Clinton visited the Club.

• The Crocodile appears to have a Scottish handler.

• Mr Secretary in his Panama Hat made a welcome change from the other silly hats.
